Achieving social change with Street Art Amsterdam

Our society is constantly changing. It is in our DNA. As time goes by we improve or discover new ways of doing things. The same goes for art. Previously, art could only be appreciated in museums as prestigious as the Moco Museum, located in the popular Museumplein. However, art has become a possibility for social change. Art is able to create connections between people. One example is Street Art Amsterdam. This city seeks to generate a global initiative. Demonstrating that art is capable of overcoming any barrier. We are going through times of intense change. Only those societies that manage to evolve together will be able to stand out above the rest. Art becomes the spark that will ignite the engine of transformation.

Art for everyone and everywhere

Art is not defined by a single trend. It is possible to mix colors in a myriad of variables. So can art. There are many ways in which street artists can bring art into society. Amsterdam has stepped up to the plate by creating an organized Street Art Amsterdam. Imagine walking through a city where you can admire colors, shapes and even textures in every corner you pass. You are sure to come across some creation that will cause a sensation. This is the mission. To make people disconnect from their daily problems through art. To motivate their minds on a daily basis. Many studies have shown that a motivated mind generates great ideas. Now imagine a whole society that is motivated. Do you get the picture?

We are talking about integration at all levels

Do you like feeling like you’re not part of something? I think we all love to feel part of something. We don’t talk about being part of everything. We are different and unique beings. It’s impossible for us to be part of everything. But Street Art Amsterdam is able to link people’s minds. Art is everywhere. Some attend museums and galleries, others enjoy paintings on walls and buildings. There is a special corner for everyone. That is the magic of art. Even though we are different, we unite through art. When people feel integrated they are more empathetic with others. This is key. A society that respects and values each other stands out. A society that stands out achieves development and happiness. And this can only be reached through the bonds of art. Regardless of its nature.
