After years of watching a TV show and getting to know the characters, it can start to feel as through their homes are an extension of our own. In fact, some of the most prominent interior design trends from the past few decades have been at least partially inspired by sitcom sets, including the popularity of the specific shade of purple used in Monica Gellar’s apartment on “Friends” (that would be PANTONE 18-3838 TCX Ultra Violet).
Now, you can put your positive feelings for these fictional abodes on display in a quirky way via an artist who has created minimalist art featuring some of the most iconic sets in television history. Here’s how to decorate your walls with an artsy take on your favorite TV show sets, just like Pam.

How to download and print this TV-inspired art
Pop culture-inspired home decor is nothing new, but these 15 minimalist images of sets from beloved TV shows are likely a vast improvement over whatever combination of TV and movie posters you had hanging in your dorm room. The pieces—each available to download and print—are by Brazilian artist Fred Birchal, best known from his pop culture costume poster series, and were commissioned by the team at HouseholdQuotes.co.uk.
The TV shows featured include:
- The Golden Girls
- The Office
- The Simpsons
- Star Trek
- Downton Abbey
- It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
- Game of Thrones
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer
- Gilmore Girls
- Stranger Things
- The Big Bang Theory
- EastEnders (a long-running British soap opera)
Under each image you’ll find a link to download a printable version. The downloadable posters don’t include the company’s logo, so they look more like something you’d buy on Etsy than a sneaky ad.
And if you’re curious as to why HouseholdQuotes.co.uk opted to commission this particular set of artwork, we were too, so we asked about it. Turns out, the idea came out of a brainstorming session: The team identified interior design as one of the key reasons homeowners use the site, and it went from there.

“This got us thinking, how could we bring a new source of inspiration for people looking to spruce up their homes? That led to a discussion surrounding our favorite TV shows, and how some TV homes seem to become a character in itself—for example the Simpsons’ house or Monica’s apartment,” a spokesperson for the site tells Lifehacker. “We chose the minimalist approach because we wanted the final images to be available as printable posters that readers could hang on their walls as a decor piece in itself.”
If your weekend plans include redecorating your space, these prints are a quick and cheap way to inject a little (pop) culture into your home without having to dig through your basement to find your tattered poster of George Costanza posing in his underwear on a chaise lounge.
