Taft’s Brewing Company’s upcoming IPA will have a label designed by local artists.
Taft’s will choose one local artist each in Cincinnati, Columbus and Kentucky to design their next beer can and 6-pack box. Artists can submit their designs through Oct. 16.
The new beer, Paint the Town Hoppy, is a double IPA that will be released on Dec. 7.
“Expect hoppy and flavorful notes of golden pineapple and ripe papaya, with aromas of mandarin orange and grapefruit,” officials said.
The goal of the beer is to support local artists.
“This year has been really challenging and difficult for all of us, but especially for local art communities,” said Jared Hamilton, director of brewing operations for Taft’s. “We wanted to find a creative way to mitigate the impact and we’re excited to see the incredible local talent Cincinnati has to offer when bringing this new beer to life visually.”

The winning artist’s design and name will appear on the cans and 6-packs, they will also receive $250, a friends and family release party, multiple features across Taft’s social media channels, promotion throughout taftsbeer.com, on-location promotional signage and features in weekly email newsletters, officials said.
Taft’s will also share submitted artwork received across their social media channels, tagging each artist to help with additional exposure of the local artists.
“We are excited to support our local artists in these challenging times. There is such an abundance of talent at a local level, and we cannot wait to see what these great artists can do with inspiration from a delicious Taft’s beer,” said Dave Kassling, managing partner at Taft’s.
