Chris Gibbs‘ Union and Converse have teamed up for a new Chuck Taylor All Star Hi. Following June’s skate-geared Breakstar Ox collaboration, the two parties have covered the high-top Chuck Taylor All Star in heritage tapestry-style illustrations for a striking look.
Built of a cream-colored canvas, the uppers display graphics that range from two people picnicking while a rooster stands nearby to horses galloping across an open plain and more. Of special note is a graphic of a man and woman standing in front of an arch and dancing to music emanating from a boombox — a piece of technology that came about well after this hand-drawn art style was introduced.
A classic Converse All-Star badge is present on its usual space on the medial collar, done up in white leather and featuring debossed details. Union’s signature gold tag is stitched into the eyestay seam on the lateral midfoot as well. White rubber toe caps and midsoles combine with vibrant yellow outsoles to complete the look.
The Union x Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star Hi is scheduled to release on September 24 at retailers like Afew, though this has yet to be officially confirmed by Converse. The MSRP is set at $100 USD.
